“I think my family’s jewelry business has influenced a lot in the way I see the products. The colors, reflections, light and revealing the beauty of them.” While many CGI artists fantasize about the artificial unreality of the metaverse, Guasch is firmly focused on reanimating reality. Their digitally replicated objects and simulated effects of nature are of such uncanny photorealistic detail that result is often indecipherable from photo or film. Yet NO photo or film production or post-production ever took place but only a computer manifesting the duo’s imagination. Our eyes understand what we see is real and our brain amazes at the world in which the objects play. Guasch is Laia and Joan, two artists intensely inspired by 90’s music videos, David Lynch movies, spirituality and family. |
